AMBITIONS+
A UNIQUE CAREERS EVENT FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS
UWE EXHIBITION & CONFERENCE CENTRE
THURSDAY 1 MARCH 2012
AMBITIONS 2012 IS TARGETED AT CURRENT POST 16 STUDENTS AS WELL AS YOUNGER STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLANNING FOR FURTHER STUDY, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT AFTER THE COMPLETION OF POST 16 PROGRAMMES.
For young people, the process of making decisions about the future - what to aim for in education, training and employment - is becoming increasingly complex. Not only is there a greater range of possible choices than ever before, but rapidly changing economic circumstances and political decisions are having a significant impact too. As has always been the case, up-to-date and high quality information is the key to effective decision-making. Ambitions 2012 will provide a unique opportunity for young people and parents in South Gloucestershire to discuss future career opportunities face-to-face with up to 100 employers, training providers and universities. For young people, a visit to the Ambitions event is a chance to get the latest information on universities, apprenticeships, foundation degrees, volunteering and gap year opportunities and company training schemes and to get professional careers advice. For parents, it’s a unique opportunity to hear directly about how the employment and education world is changing so that they can help their children be most effectively prepared for the future.
