What is the Kingswood Partnership?

The Kingswood Partnership is a well-established consortium of the six secondary schools in the south-eastern part of South Gloucestershire and the City of Bristol College.

Partnership courses include all 14 lines of Diploma Learning for students aged 14-19. In Years 10 and 11 there are more than 20 available courses and in Post 16 there are over 100 courses. These include traditional subjects such as Mathematics, French, History and Physics as well as more work relevant courses such as Engineering, Construction and ICT.

As well as studying together, there are joint extra-curricular activities within the Partnership. Teachers and lecturers also undertake joint development work and staff training activities to ensure that teaching methods are up to date and students achieve their true potential. The Kingswood Partnership was selected as one of eleven 14-19 Development Pathfinders in the country for the Department for Education and Skills to develop innovative approaches to the 14-19 curriculum including the new Diplomas. City of Bristol College has recently won a Beacon Award for its 14-19 collaborative work with the six secondary schools within The Kingswood Partnership and the Partnership is one of five consortia entitled to deliver all 14 lines of Diploma Learning from September 2010.

As a result of this drive for academic success, our examination results continue to improve each year. Many students go on to study at a wide range of different universities whilst other students have begun careers with major employers.

Most of all, the Partnership is about the people who study and teach together in the seven centres – over 2000 students and several hundred teachers and lecturers.
